Adoptable Animals

Every day abandoned pets end up in shelters or in the possession of animal control.  Some of these animals are reclaimed by their owners before its too late while others face an uncertain future.    For those animals of uncertainty that wait patiently to be placed into foster care, rescues or new forever homes they do so, in some case, with little more than the cage that imprisons them.  The reason for this is simple and is said time and time again - "over population".  The reality is, there are too many unwanted pets and too few people to adopt them into loving homes.

So what happens next?  In some cases these environments over crowd pets into  kennels/cages where they can't afford to pay for anything more than food - vetting and medication is something that will never happen under their roof.  Even the basics that we take for granted and without thought give to our own pets - toys, collars and leashes for walks - can't be purchased.  These animals are lonely and depressed.  They must wait in these conditions while their caretakers hope for the best, but expect the worst.  Many of the animals will die, knowing only what their life was like on the few days before they would be lead to their death.

Rescues that step in and pull animals in urgent matters, grave situations and from high kill shelters have minimal budgets, work mainly off donations and have extremely limited space - this means they can only save a few animals at a time.  The money available to the rescues doesn't  usually cover everything that each pet needs.

But even with all we can do, the cruel reality of the situation is - many unloved animals wait in unfavorable conditions and sadly some won't make it out alive.   To help ease the suffering of these animals please consider donating:

New or gently used collars, leashes, food/water bowls, blankets, beds, toys, treats, non-expired flea treatment i.e. Frontline for cats and dogs, trash bags, house hold cleaners, paper towels, medications and food.

Better Days For Pets will collect all donated items and ship/deliver care packages out to needy shelters/rescues all over the United States.  Your donations will mean so much to an animal that has so little.  If you are interested in giving within your local area but don't know where to take your donations, please email me for a list of friendly shelters and rescues so you can decide where to donate.
